About Terence Harding

Terence Harding is an artist/designer who is the proud father of a son Tate and more recently, daughter Lana. His work has strong explorative aspects, both in terms of materials experimentation and in the manipulation of abstract form using computer programming. Terence graduated from the Wood, Metal, Ceramics and Plastics BA (hons) course at the University of Brighton in 2007 where he specialised in wood and ceramics.

Comparison to particle collision experiments

Terence Harding's sculptural work often manifests as the manipulation or subversion of familiar geometric forms. In an exploration regarding the substance of form, he partially destroyed (i.e. transformed) these forms.  The final outcomes were the result of thorough and repetitive materials experimentation including the use of an air rifle as a reduction process.

In polarity, Terence's research into form derived from the behaviour of water, relied on the manipulation of familiar forms using mathematical formulae and computer programming. His highly original work has proven popular and has appeared in the prestigious New Designers SELECTION exhibition and the Crafts Councils 'New Faces' showcase at the V&A.

He is currently producing commissioned sculpture including abstract portraits and applied arts functionals and will be appearing in the Where Are You Now? Cafè at New Designers 25th Anniversary.
